"Quid Pro Quo" type of sexual harassment
The term "Quid Pro Quo" translates in Latin as "this for that" . It is looked upon as a trade on the basis of sex. The consequences of this form of harassment include material economic losses. So, if a male boss threatens to degrade his female worker if she does not assent to his sexual demands, it can be said that he is sexually harassing his employee. Considerably the male boss does not have to specifically mention that he would promote his female worker if she gave in to his demands.
On the other hand, even a suggestive conduct or words on the part of the harasser are enough to hold him responsible for sexual harassment.
On similar lines, "sexual favoritism" can also be considered to be a "Quid Pro Quo" type of harassment. Here, a certain employee, who was rejected a promotion or other job benefits for no licit reason might asset that the other person who got the job did so because she performed sexual favors for her boss.
